This was a great day at the Kennedy Space Center. What a great time to explore our center for Space Exploration. Unfortunately, our new Administration has put a halt to our space program and they only have 2 more missions. We spoke with some very frustrated NASA employees regarding what is going to happen. There are so many things that have been invented from the space program that is useful to us today.
This is a replica of a jet that follows the Shuttle as it comes in to land.
This picture is approximately 4 miles away from where we were. It once was the largest building in the world. Now it's the 4th largest. This building is where they assemble the shuttles.
This is a launch site that is around 4 miles away. Everyone has to be at least 3 miles away at launch in case it explodes. The fallout is around 3 miles.
We saw a bald eagle which is prevalent in this area. There are several nests that you can see in the trees that have been there for over 40 years.

This is the side where they upright the shuttle before they put it on the crawler to take it to the launching pad. Notice the bottom where the wings fit.
This is the roadway where the crawler travels to the launching pad. You can see tracks in the rocks where they recently towed a satellite that was launched for the international space station.
This is launch site #39 where they launched the Apollo's.
This was the control center when they launched the 1st Apollo mission that carried astronauts.
